The World Is Analog

A Night In The Life Of Obstetrics

📍: Martini Hospital, Groningen, the Netherlands
📅: Februari 2005
📷: Mamiya C330
🔎: Mamiya 80 mm and 135 mm
🎞: Ilford Delta 400 PRO

For this serie I visited the obstetrics during the night shift. My goal was to capture the midnight atmosphere.
Initially I planned to use my digital SLR but after some test shots I realized that I was more able to record that atmosphere by using my old Mamiya TLR 6x6 camera loaded with an Ilford Delta 400 PRO rol film.
I used a 80 mm and 135 mm lens but during the development of the film I found out that my 135 mm lens was broken and some films were destroyed.
The prints are developed on Ilford Multigrade IV RC Deluxe MGD 1M paper and the scanning is done with a HP scanjet 5500c scanner. Unfortunately some details in the high level areas got lost by doing so.
Some post processing like level adjustment and dust removal is done in Photoshop.
All photos are shown in there original size, no cropping is done in the darkroom or with Photoshop.
