Despite several attempts by a heritage association, it was not possible to prevent the demolition of the Nicolaiflats in Emmermeer. An attempt to grant the characteristic Emmer apartment buildings on Nijkampen a monumental status has failed. The demolition has been announced for two out of the six residential blocks, and the tenants in these two blocks have moved out.
It seemed like an interesting location to take some medium-format photos, and I also had a good reason to take my two rolls of Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 120 film out of the refrigerator.
Interestingly enough, I noticed that there was still one resident who had not moved out.
